Sellvida

A Visionary Voice in Mixed Media Art

Silviya Georgieva, known artistically as Sellvida, is a dynamic and versatile force in the London art scene. Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, Silviya's artistic foundation was nurtured in a family rich with creativity, particularly by her father, an artist whose influence has shaped her deeply. Her studies in textile and graphic design at Bulgaria’s most prestigious art institutions further refined her ability to merge form, texture, and color in her work.

Sellvida

Choosing the name "Sellvida," a tribute to her grandmother, Silviya bridges heritage and personal identity, creating a name that mirrors the layers she weaves into her collages.

Through layered compositions, Silviya captures fragments of her life and surroundings, reflecting her unique perspective of the world.

A Journey Through Mixed Media Art

INSIDE THE PROCESS

I love mixing paint, ink, charcoal, and pencil, allowing the materials to interact in unpredictable ways.

This dynamic process creates new perspectives every time the viewer engages with the work, inviting them to explore different angles and discover fresh layers of meaning with each glance.

Each layer of paper I select is a carefully chosen fragment of the world—sometimes from vintage magazines, other times from the delicate handmade papers of Japan, India, or China which I collect through the years from everywhere.

These pieces carry their own histories, merging with my exploration of identity, memory, and the human experience.

Through this layered process, my art becomes a reflection of the complexity of life itself, constantly shifting, revealing, and inviting new interpretations.

Surroundings and Everyday Life

INSPIRATIONS

Silviya draws inspiration from the world around her—urban landscapes, fleeting moments, and interactions with people—all of which influence her creative process.

NATURE’S INFLUENCE

The natural world plays a key role in her work, with seascapes and organic forms contributing to the depth and texture of her pieces.

MUSIC AS INSPIRATION

Music, with its rhythm and emotion, also inspires Silviya’s creative flow, influencing the way she constructs her layered compositions.

DYNAMIC INSPIRATION

Silviya finds artistic fuel in the constantly shifting world around her, whether it's through nature, music, or the pulse of daily life, continuously evolving her work.

HUMAN CONNECTION

The energy of human interactions and emotions shapes the themes of her work, inviting viewers to connect personally with the stories within her art.

This captures the broad and dynamic sources of inspiration that influence Silviya’s art.

My mission as an artist is to invite viewers into a journey of self-exploration, where my layered compositions evoke a shared connection, inspiring reflection on identity, memory, and life’s complexities
