"Brooklyn Bridge NYC" – A Captivating Urban Journey
New York City has always held a magnetic allure for me—its vibrant energy, the pulse of the streets, and the endless possibilities it offers. Among the city's many iconic landmarks, the Brooklyn Bridge stands out with its awe-inspiring architecture and breathtaking views. This piece captures the heart of the bridge and its surrounding urban landscape, which has always fascinated me.
Creating this artwork was both an exciting challenge and a labor of love, especially given the large canvas size—much bigger than what I typically work with. I focused on simplifying the scene, honing in on the composition to allow the complexity of the environment to shine through. I spent countless hours studying the fog over the water, the high New York horizon, and the ever-changing cityscape that surrounds it.
In this piece, you’ll clearly see my signature collage style, where I blend different materials to create a multi-dimensional experience. Using coloured paper, handmade papers sourced from all over the world, along with paint, charcoal, and ink, I brought together these elements to build a textured, layered composition. The result is a piece that reflects not just the visual beauty of the Brooklyn Bridge, but also the profound emotional connection I have with this city and its ever-evolving landscape
