THE STORY
"Warriors" is a collage deeply inspired by Japanese culture, which has been a lifelong passion of mine. I am profoundly moved by their state of mind, rich traditions, and timeless discipline. This particular piece was sparked by a challenge from my partner, who shared an evocative 17th-century photograph of Samurai warriors. As I delved into my research, I felt an unexpected connection to these warriors—resilient, focused, and deeply rooted in their purpose. In many ways, I see myself as a kind of warrior, channelling that same determination into my creative process. While working on this collage, I drew inspiration from Japanese cut-paper art, a practice that mirrors a meditative state, demanding precision, patience, and skill. Using a sharp blade to craft each element, I discovered a rhythm that was as much about mindfulness as it was about technique. This piece represents the harmony between discipline and creativity. Limited signed edition prints will be available soon, inviting others to connect with the spirit of the Samurai through this work.
